Gender has become the by word of the ‘90’s. This folder contains a rich collection of studies and experiences within the Water and Sanitation sector in general which have been gained during the last decade.
Water Resources Management is the integrating concept for a number of water sub-sectors such as groundwater supply, hydropower, irrigation and drainage, and environment. An integrated water resources perspective ensures that social, economic, environmental and technical dimensions are taken into account in the management and development of water resources.
This site serves as a central organizing point for water as a cross-cutting issue in Uganda. It addresses water as a resource in its many dimensions, serves to assess and disseminate emerging lessons and shared experiences, to publicize policies and guidelines.

Sanitation and Water Knowledge management and Learning Alliance Uganda (SAWA-U) is the former WATSAN Resource Centre in Uganda. SAWA-Uganda emerged from the Resource Centre Development (RCD) process in Uganda that dates back to the year 2002 when IRC together with SNV kick started this process. SAWA-U acts as a collective memory bank and knowledge base that collects, repackages, document and share information directly with individuals or through networks responding to local needs and new opportunities and provides a platforms for dialogue and learning in the Water Sanitation and Hygiene Sector in Uganda.
